Biography

Dr. Ameer A. Basit is the Dean and Associate Professor of Management at GIFT University, Pakistan. Earlier he has worked at Information Technology University (ITU) and University of Management and Technology, Pakistan. Dr. Basit received his PhD in Management (HRM/OB) with distinction from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Malaysia in 2014. He was a recipient of Malaysian International Scholarship, which is a highly competitive scholarship for foreign students awarded by the Ministry of Education Malaysia. Further to his credit, he received Best PhD Student in Management Award, Best PhD Student of the Year Award, Excellent Thesis Award, and Graduate on Time Award from UKM-Graduate School of Business. Dr. Basit likes to teach courses relating to OB/HR, entrepreneurship, and research methods. He is an HEC Approved PhD Supervisor. He has presented his research in various international conferences. His research focuses on positive employee attitudes and behaviors, leadership, employee job performance, entrepreneurship, teams, and entrepreneurial start-ups. He also holds memberships of world’s most prestigious American associations of management scientists and academics, including Academy of Management (AOM) and Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP). Dr. Basit’s research paper for the Academy of Management Annual Meeting 2016 has been selected as a best paper in the field of Organizational Behavior.
